Lowell's Marley Foundation Astronomy Discovery Center: A New Era of Outreach at Lowell Observatory with Jeffrey Hall! In-Person
Have you heard the ASTRONOMICAL news? Lowell Observatory will open its new $53M Marley Foundation Astronomy Discovery Center (ADC) in November 2024. It is Lowell’s vision that this new facility will be THE premier astronomy education destination in the world. With state-of-the-art exhibits, a hands-on children’s exhibit gallery, an immersive theater with a 120-foot-wide LED screen, and a 180-seat rooftop planetarium for night sky tours with sweeping views of the Flagstaff area, the ADC will be a place where visitors of all ages can uniquely experience the marvels of the Universe.
In this reservation only special event, Executive Director Jeffrey Hall will guide you through a sneak peak of the center, complete with a visual tour, descriptions of its amenities, and the themes they are building into its programming.
Jeffrey Hall received a B.A. in Physics from Johns Hopkins University and a Ph.D. in Astronomy & Astrophysics from Pennsylvania State University. He joined Lowell Observatory in 1992, focusing on stellar astrophysics and solar variations, and became Executive Director in 2010.
