Celebrating Indigenous Cultures: Geronimo

Celebrating Indigenous Cultures: Geronimo In-Person

Geronimo’s Legacy: A Living Story of Survival and Resistance
As part of Community Library Sedona’s ongoing Celebrating Indigenous Cultures series, a direct descendant of the legendary Apache leader Geronimo shares a powerful, personal narrative of survival, sovereignty, and identity. This rare opportunity offers insight into Geronimo’s early life, his resistance against both U.S. and Mexican forces, and his experience as a prisoner of war—told through the lens of a family member carrying that legacy forward.

More than history, this program invites reflection on what it means to honor ancestry, confront injustice, and preserve cultural memory. For anyone seeking a deeper understanding of the American story from Indigenous perspectives, this is a conversation not to miss.
