STEAM Lab: Sweet Science of States of Matter! Hosted by Yavapai Exploration and Science (Y.E.S.)

Join us for a delicious dive into the science of matter! In this hands-on STEAM Lab, kids will explore the three states of matter by making their own ice cream and creating fizzy root beer floats. As ingredients mix, change temperature, and transform right before their eyes, participants will observe how solids, liquids, and gases behave in real time.

Kids will predict what happens when ingredients are combined, investigate how temperature affects states of matter, and record their observations as they watch liquids turn into solids and gases form bubbles. Along the way, we’ll explore how molecules move in each state and why these changes occur.

Participants will also get creative by customizing their ice cream flavors and building their own root beer floats, blending science with a tasty treat and a whole lot of fun.
